On Saturday 9th June an audience of over 140 was admirably entertained in St. Peters Church by Rushden Town Band who were performing “An evening of Film and T.V. Music” to raise funds for The Friends of Oundle Parish Church. Music from TV and film, both recent and from years past was thoroughly enjoyed by all, starting with a range of “Epic Themes” composed by John Williams, a beautiful rendition of “Over the Rainbow” with solo by Kate Mullen, the haunting music of “Gabriel’s Oboe and many more well and less well known pieces being played.
Feedback, both on the night and in the following days was extremely positive —– the church providing excellent acoustics for performance.
A big “Thank you”, not only to Adele Hudson the Musical Director and all band members for their splendid performance, but also to all who helped in any way before, during and after the event……and of course, to all who came along to support us in raising much needed funds for our church building. Whilst a final figure is not yet available, it is likely that in the region of £500 will have been raised. “THANK YOU!”
