This year, Jan 2017, the FOPC’s Jazz night was in the Great Hall, Oundle School. This was because the Church’s West wing is being refurbished and although the Great Hall does not offer quite the same atmosphere, there was space to move more easily around the tables AND we could offer seats in the gallery. Oundle School’s OSJO 1 & 2 bands were very much up to their brilliant standard and played to a full house. We offer french bread and cheese plus a glass of wine with each ticket but this does not stop our regulars ‘topping’ this up with additional snacks of dips, sausages on sticks and even meat platters. However, we do put our foot down at meals being delivered or bottles being brought in because our bar is one of the key fund raising areas. As we managed to increase our numbers…just a little, I suspect we may have managed to raise a little more money than usual toward helping refurbish the church. So…grateful thanks to all who support us and to those who have signed up , in advance, for tickets for next year’s concert!
NEW DATE TO PUT IN YOUR DIARY: October 7th 2017, we will be holding a Brass Band concert in the Church. The theme will be ‘Brassed Off’ – music from the same named film. The performers will be Rushden Brass Band led by our very own Adele Hudson…..please watch this space for further details.
